Sports Injuries

Athletes put more strain on their joints and muscles than the average person.  Our Physical Therapists evaluate athletes for potential areas of weakness and offer exercise recommendations to prevent injury.  If injury does occur, we evaluate the extent of the damage to muscles and joints.  Based on prevention goals and problems identified during the evaluation, we design programs to manage and treat injuries with the goal of getting the patient back in the game quickly and safely.

Lighthouse Physical Therapy is magic!

AnnieI’m a competitive gymnast who practices 20+ hours per week and, at times, my body takes a pounding.  I’ve challenged Lighthouse Physical Therapy with many different issues over the years, including pinched nerves, sprains, strains, shin splints, and more.  Fortunately for me, Lighthouse Physical Therapy has consistently been able to get to the root of my pain and treat the true cause, putting me back in the gym quickly!  Lighthouse Physical Therapy is an important part of my team!

Whatever your sport, whatever your skill level: student, weekend warrior or competitive athlete our therapists can develop a program specifically for you, your sport and your unique physical needs. Our active team has experience in working with competitive athletes in sports such as: Gymnastics, Baseball, Soccer, Running, Cycling, Dancing, Golf and many more.

Every athlete is unique.  That’s why we don’t recommend outdated methodologies or ineffective treatment.  We develop and implement a program that works just for you.  Your therapist will utilize many of the techniques available to conventional therapists but combine them with advanced techniques.  We identify the best manual therapy, stretching, strengthening, and core stability techniques that work best for your specific needs.
